TikTok's product preview for the quarter came out on 28 July 2026. Nineteen items, most of them about TikTok Shop and GMV Max, which are no use to a restaurant in Islamabad or a contractor in Bahrain. This is the shorter list of what matters if you run TikTok for awareness, launches or leads, and what I'm doing with it.
Smart+ comes to search and lead generation
Smart+ Search Ads extends TikTok's automated campaign type to search. TikTok search has become a real place people look for restaurants, products and places to go, and until now buying it meant a separate, manual campaign. Automation here is the same trade as everywhere else: less control, more reach, and it only works if the conversion signal is right.
Auto-Selection for Lead Generation automatically sources, tests and scales the best-performing creative for lead gen campaigns, with controls over what it can pick from. For a lead form campaign that's the fortnightly creative test done for you, which I'd welcome if the judgement is cost per qualified lead rather than cost per form.
No dates or availability were given for either, so I'm treating both as "watch for it in Ads Manager".
Symphony Agent and the upgraded Avatar
Symphony Agent turns a prompt and brand details into a brief and a TikTok-ready ad. Symphony Avatar adds voiceover, product demos and virtual try-on to AI-generated UGC-style content.
My view, from the Rewayat account: the creative that worked on TikTok was a real walk through a real rooftop, which held 41.7% of viewers past six seconds and twelve seconds on average, against about one second for the discount creatives. An AI avatar reading a script is closer to the discount creative than to the walk-through. I'll test Symphony for quick variants of a hook, but for a launch I'd still send someone with a phone.
Creative Upgrades and the Google Analytics integration
Creative Upgrades (previously Creator+) is a redesigned place to find, manage and refresh creative, including pre-approved trending videos. Catalog auto-crawl pulls product images and video from landing pages. Both are built for catalogue campaigns.
The Google Analytics integration for Sales campaigns is the one I'd actually use: GA4 reporting and tracking diagnostics inside TikTok Ads Manager. If it means TikTok conversions reconcile with GA4 without a spreadsheet, that's a monthly report made simpler. It's listed with no date.
TopView and Pulse: for bigger budgets
TopView self-serve, Geo Exclusion and Traffic Optimisation, and the Pulse lineup products, are allowlist or US and Canada only, and priced for brands buying the top of the app. I've noted them for the day a client has that budget. Pulse Custom self-serve is in open beta in the US and Canada from Q3.
Agentic Hub
A place to build AI agents for campaign management, including a TikTok Ads MCP and ready-made skills for reporting, audience discovery and budget optimisation. Interesting for agencies running dozens of accounts. For an account I manage by hand every week, the risk is an agent moving budget on signals I haven't checked, so I'll read about it before I connect anything.
What I'm doing on the TikTok accounts
- Keep buying launches on video views and judging them on six-second rate and average watch time. Nothing in this preview changes that.
- Test Smart+ Search when it appears, on a restaurant with search demand, against a manual search campaign on the same budget.
- Test Auto-Selection on a lead gen campaign only with a qualifying question on the form, so the automation is scaling the right leads.
- Try Symphony for hook variants of a creative that already works. Not for the hero video.
The Rewayat TikTok case study has the watch-time figures that shape all of this.
Checked against TikTok's product preview on 4 November 2026. Availability for several items has not been announced.
I run paid ads on Meta, Google and TikTok across the UK, the Gulf and Pakistan, and build the tracking and pages around them. Get in touch or find me on LinkedIn.
