The brief
Rewayat Events is the catering arm of Rewayat Restaurant, launched from nothing. The goal was enquiries for weddings, corporate events and private functions, and for the owner to be able to talk to those people directly.
What I did
Click-to-WhatsApp as the conversion. Campaigns optimised for conversations started, with a pre-filled first message that already carried the useful detail: event type, date and rough guest count.
Targeted the people who book events. Interest and demographic targeting around weddings, corporate functions and private gatherings, with the restaurant's existing customers as a seed audience.
Showed the product. Creative built around menus, event set-ups and the dishes people already knew from the restaurant.
Labelled every chat. New, qualified, quoted and booked, so by the end of each week it was clear which campaigns brought in people who actually paid.
Results
Five Rewayat Events campaigns, each running for a few weeks around a launch, a season or Ramadan, started 2,805 WhatsApp conversations at an average of Rs180 each:
| Campaign | Conversations | Cost per conversation |
|---|---|---|
| Leads, November 2023 | 995 | Rs252.89 |
| Leads, November 2024 | 547 | Rs269.78 |
| Ramadan, March 2025 | 977 | Rs61.31 |
| Ramadan daig offer | 175 | Rs178.68 |
| Messages, June 2026 | 111 | Rs140.91 |
The Ramadan 2025 campaign is the one to look at: 977 conversations at Rs61.31 each, 76% below the November 2023 campaign. Seasonal timing and a clear Ramadan offer did more for the cost per conversation than any targeting change. The client reported that a good share of the conversations closed into paid bookings, enough to establish catering as its own line of business.
In short
A catering business built on WhatsApp conversations: 2,805 of them, qualified before anyone picked up the phone, and the cheapest at Rs61.
